In February 2022, Alex called – Hey, do you want to fly with us to Isreal?
The reason was, on the one hand, the security event Blue Hat and, on the other hand, the exchange with the product managers of the security solutions we work with daily.
I didn’t hesitate for long and said yes, full of anticipation.
Preparation
The closer the departure day approached, the greater the tension to be infected with Corona. For this reason, all unnecessary contacts were already limited a week before in order not to endanger the trip. Before departure, we needed a negative rapid test; I was very happy when I held the negative result in my hands 🙂
Still, in Germany, we booked a quick PCR test in Isreal, which reduced our quarantine time significantly. Many thanks to the MVP colleagues who gave us this tip 🙂

Once in Isreal, we underwent the security questions, grabbed our luggage, and drove to Herzlia to the first hotel: Isrotel Publica.
We went out for tapas in the evening and let the day end quietly.
The following day we went to the new Microsoft building for the first talks.
The building is simply stunning, top modern, huge with a great view.
We had great conversations, got a lot of helpful information, and were able to give feedback directly to product owners face to face – thank you very much for that!

Microsoft MSec All Hands Event
On 27.02, Microsoft had an internal event where we were invited, and Alex was even allowed to speak as a speaker in front of 300 developers, product owners, and managers .…
It’s amazing to see how Microsoft has developed in terms of security in the last few years and what focus the topic has.

Move to Jaffa
The Blue Hat conference was held in Jaffa, so we moved.
We also had interesting discussions with the Defender for Identity team in the old Microsoft building. Here, too, we received helpful information on how Microsoft will upgrade the MDI product in the future and what new possibilities this will create.

Blue Hat – Security Conference
On 02.03.2022 was then the Blue Hat
Microsoft has come into its own, with a brilliantly designed location, excellent presentations, lots of different food, and good music.

I got some great impressions about Isreal, met great people from Microsoft, collected a lot of helpful information, and am looking forward to the next trip to Isreal.
Many thanks to Alex for the opportunity!
